Slow web pages

[link to this post]

Can anyone explain why when testing with BT Speedtester I get the following

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 3000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 3872 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2773 kbps

But using other speedtesters such speedtester.net I only get around 500-700K, and web page loading is sooo slow

Same here, bt test

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 6261 kbps

any other test i cant get over 800 kbps, this has been going on for a week but it only happens between 5pm - 11pm.I assumed I was been capped but I spoke to the FUP team and they say no way am i been capped because my highest monthly usage is 5 gig over the last 6 months. I have spoken to tech support and they have no idea's so if you find out what the problem is let me know.

downloading at 170k off newsgroup is killing the connection, cant play a game at the same time whereas normally my ping is solid 50 wilst downloading at this speed

Who is this elusive fair use team? Do you have a number for them?

Thanks

You have to call customer services and ask them to connect you, I had no problems speaking to them. The only thing to be careful of is there are 2 teams one for downloading and one for security
