getting out of bt contract

[link to this post]

Please help!
i've had BT total broadband (option 3) for 9 months now and have had endless problems. The problems vary from drops in the connection, incredibly slow speed and hub phone not working. i have made endless phone calls to support in India and UK, emailed complaints and even phoned chairmans office (who passed my call to customer service). The tech support have never been able to cure the problems. was told that they would send me a new hub, which never arrived. they also said an engineer would come out and guess what... he didn't turn up!! i am now at the end of my tether and can not take anymore. I phoned to cancel broadband, only to be told i would have to pay for 4 months that are left on my contract!! BT have clearly not stuck to their side of the contract but are doing all they can to get even more money out of me for a service i am not getting. i would really appreciate some much needed advice. Thankyou

Explain the deal if you don't feel BT will help you out that much.

I just got my MAC code.

YAHOOOOO!!!!!

Sorry!
I am sooo excited, can't wait to get away from BT. I was worrying incase I was still in a contract. Amazingly they didn't even offer me a better deal! even though I have been with BT for MANY years...!

Assuming you have had a fault open with BT for longer than 14 days you can get a cease on technical grounds (aka they can't provide a stable service)

The benefit of this is you don't get held to term.
