BT Vision advice

[link to this post]

I am thinking of getting BT Vision.
Can any one advise if the v box has caller id.
I currently use the BT easicom TV3 which dispays incomming calls on my TV. This is very useful in my line of work.
As the TV cabnet is now getting full eg Sky+ box, wireless video extender, calle id device etc it would be nice to ditch the current caller device if i get BT Vision.

As far as I can gather that feature is one which is "coming soon" when I'm not sure you can call from the Vision box but nothing incoming yet.

Apart from that BT Vision is a very good product on demand works extremely well.

But in direct answer to your question no it does not, it may come to the box it may not.

As always many thanks paulbeattie87 for your advice.

I will still get this product and hopefully caller id will be available in future updates.
In the meantime i will have to live with the clutter of devices i currently have.

Can't agree about the BT Viosn box. It 'may be' very good in the future. At the omnet I would cousel 'wait and see'.

When first released it was so buggy as to be unusable. The last release (1184) meant that it only locked up twice a day for me. (BTW the only thing that i needed to do to get it to lock up was USE it.) Two days ago the latest release (2019) was put on the servers. It will auto downmload to selected users for test. (Some people have done forced dowloads of it as well.) If all goes well it will roll out to all BT Vision boxes.

We shall see if it fixes the bugs. If they don't fix it this time - it's going back. In the meantime I advise people to wait. (Unless they offer you a free one to try.)

My experience is very different to Beerhunters. I only get one or two lockups each week. I have many series setup to record and it has yet to miss any of them. The video on demand has also been faultless and the quality is great.

I hear that a second update will be available this month which contains further bug fixes.

My advice is to get it - it's free anyway and you only pay for what you watch on demand - unless you subscribe.

I just couldn't bring myself to give Rupert Murdoch so much money in a month!

Still having the full Sky package along with their BB etc is still a lot more expensive than Vision.

Oh and see their calls broadband and TV deal they are advertising not so cheap after you slap on the

It was a retention offer a while back, I think he means the free V-Box.
