Well thank god...

I have finally managed to get my MAC code and get out of my 18 month BT contract, only migrated in March but since then my broadband has been terrible.

The indian "helpdesk", now thats funny, have advised me to do everything from deleting cookies to reinstalling windows. Finally yesterday I wasnt prepared to accept anything but my MAC and low and behold I was given it along with no penalties for leaving early. RESULT.....

Leaving the super slow highway behind to join the ADSL 24 autobahn on 26/7/07...

could you tell me how you got out of your contract? I signed up to BT Broadband Option 3, 12 months ago, and technically my agreement is up this week.

i rang BT to get a Mac so i could migrate away. I got it and a final BT broadband bill.

Gave this info to my new ISP (Be), and received an activation date. Rang BT just to confirm this change, and they now say Im in a new contract with them until next May!

I sent an email to the chairman, and my case is now being investigated by BT.

Im really annoyed. What do i do?

You ask to see the electronically signed contract that relates to the new contract.

Tell them to post a copy of it to your address, as, failing that you will make a complaint to the police against them for deception. Dont laugh. The police will investigate it.

I once made a formal complaint of theft against the TSB for removing money from my account without my permission (long story) but the CID contacted the bank manager and he was so surprised they very quickly refunded the money.

nice one. i've also jumped ship and i'm heading off to ukfsn. my activation date is also the 26th. i can't wait. it's just a shame i still have to pay bt for line rental : shakes fist :

and hopeless, i hope the ceo's office sort you out. there's nothing to dispute is there? so that should be resolved pretty sharpish (with a bit of luck).

That is seriously unreal.

It's like saying to fix your car thats run out of fuel, you need to replace the spark plugs and engine to get it sorted. Knowing fine you could change everything and anything and the source of the problem does not lie there.

It just goes bad to worse, I guess their tech support don't even know what common sense is.

I even wonder why they have tech support in India apart from getting you off BT's back. Since the excuse is its cheap support that has no use whatsoever. Which is also a waste of money. They may as well tell you they like cheese when you get put through to their tech support. That is as of much use as it is.

PM me whats happened, explain it again your explanation on the board suggests that you have joined Be and BT are investigating your complaint as to why you left.
