Question re HomeHub and second wireless router

[link to this post]

Hi,

Another quick question -

For various reasons, I have to have a second wireless (3com) router in my office. This really only used as a wireless access point and it is cat-5 connected to my (Netgear) adsl modem/router. The reason for this is to ensure coverage for wireless throughout the house and to hardware my main PC back to the Netgear to ensure speed using the 4 port switch built into the 3com.

My question is - will I still be able to connect this 3com router to the HomeHub and continue to use it in the same way ? It would be a real show-stopper if I couldn't.

Thanks in advance

Matt

For a while, I had my Home Hub connected to a wired router to give wireless access elsewhere. Worked fine.

Hope that answers your point , or have I got it wrong.?

Are you sure that you are using it as a router an not just it's WAP function. If the latteri t will work in the same fashion with a HH.

As long as the DHCP server is OFF on the 2nd router it should just access as a switch with wi-fi AP and be no different to any other network switch.

Just plug one of the LAN ports on the router to one of the ports on the Homehub and it *should* work but I can't guarantee it 100% (not done it with a Homehub myself ..... yet)
