BT Talk - Must I Use HH?

[link to this post]

Hi,

I have a HH and Hub Phone 1010 which I've never used - always being happy with my Netgear DG834G. Now looking for a more flexible alternative to Skype (without buying a Skype wi fi phone) Is there any way to use BB Talk with the Netgear via some sort of adapter and different DECT 'phone or must I change to the HH/Hub Phone 1010?

Thanks

TC

You can connect a voyager 10v adapter to your netgear and use it for BT BB Talk. I would just use the hub though

Thanks - I'd seen something like this mentioned elsewhere but have not been able to track it down as something you can get hold of other than by opting for the Voyager router, hence I was wondering if there was an alternative.

thats exactly what i use a 10v Voyager as i had problems on my long line with the hub dropping the connection and slow speeds. the netgear is better on longer lines than it seems the Hub.

10v adaptor here on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BT-VOYAGER-10V-WIRELESS-ROUTER_W0QQitemZ200205943277QQihZ010QQcategoryZ44997QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I thought the 10v's stopped working with broadband talk?

Maybe that's why no-one is bidding for it on ebay then! I'm reluctant to try the HH as my line noise is not so good and the Netgear hangs on right down to 0db SNR which I don't think the hub will do.

Sure BT changed a setting on their BB Talk servers which stopped the 10v from working correctly. The feeling I got from users posting that a fix would come very slowly or never.

no probs here paul mine is in front of me now and is 100% reliable it was in my previous big thread on using a PAP2 when i worked out the settings and got it working they changed their sip registration which locked out the PAP2's which is why i changed to the 10v.
