ok sorry if i shouldnt post this here but i thought i would get more help because i am on bt and use the homehub
Ok i have had rainbow 6 vegas 2 since release and it has worked fine. i hadnt played it for about 1-2 months so i put i back in yesterday and when ever i search for a match it comes back a second later saying NO MATCHES FOUND. i try every game mode and change all the options i can to any/all but it comes back with nothing. its like this on ranked and unranked. the only way i can get it to find a game is if i put game mode to all adversarial modes and then it only comes back with about 5 and most of them are attack and defend, but if i go and search for attack and defend again it finds nothing.
anyone know what could be wrong? all i wanna do is play this game, just not attack and defend
i looked on the internet and port forwarded the 360 and all my friends online and in real life dont have this problem
could it be the home hub or something?
thanks

Have you tried rebooting the home hub? Press the restart button on the side or if a hub 1.0 unplug it and then plug it back in after a minute or so.

|
|
|
i tried reseting it, is that the same thing?

Yes it would have a similar action.
On your Xbox go to the System blade, then down to network. In their carry out the Xbox Live Connection Test and post back the results.

test connection?
if thats wg=hat you mean everything is connected and teh nat is open
|
|
|
|
Then the problem isn't with the home hub and with the game, might want to wait and see if it works again. If NAT is open the connection to Xbox Live is working fine.

oh ok, any reason why its fine for everyone else, also now if i search for a specific match like team deathmatch it wont find nothing but when i search for every match straight after it finds alot of team death matches, but i either get kicked out as soon as i enter or when i enter it starts to get laggy. i dont think its my connection because its 3-4 meg and my friends is 1.5 and he is fine when playing

Its nothing to do with connection speed, if I remember tonight I will try my copy of vegas 2 and see what happens.

ok thanks alot man

Could you try a spare router or a friends router??? that will tell you if it's the hub or not. I personaly have had no issue's with Vegas 2 or any service on live.
Keep us updated

Sorry it was a little longer than I expected to get round to testing. Can you open command prompt and ping bbc.co.uk?
XP: Start>Run "cmd" then type into the black box "ping bbc.co.uk"
In Vista Winkey+R type "cmd" again in the black box type "ping bbc.co.uk"
Post back the results, to copy and paste from command prompt, right click anywhere in the window and select mark, then drag your mouse over the area you wish to copy, once its selected press enter to put it into your clipboard.
I think your ping is maybe a bit too high, possibly due to some noise on your line.
P.S. Thanks for making me put it back on, I got 10GS because of it!

Hmm those shouldn't cause any issues mine are higher than that, could you do that once again just to make sure the 355ms ping was a once off?

In that case I'm at a loss to what the issue is, my hub at the time was an older one like you are using.
Cant think on what the issue is, you could try calling Microsoft and see what they say.

i just finally got into a match and was talking to someone in there and he says he lives abou 15 mins away from me and he has the same problem but he doesnt know anyone else who has it. he is with orange broadband though

Interesting, I did test mine when I posted which would have been early morning for most people.

Have you got the latest firmware for the hub?
Try selecting 'XBOX Live' as application sharing on the hub, then restart the hub.
You could also try resetting to factory defaults on both the hub and the xbox 360 to see if that cures the problem.
If that fails then the best bet is to ring XBOX 360 Support 0800 587 1102 and select the option for live.
