BT broadband speeds in Cornwall

This is my speed in a village in Cornwall 6 miles from Saltash. When I was with Eclipse I got 1 MB, but this speed is pathetic. I've heard rumours that BT is trying an experiment in poor reception areas, has anyone else heard what it might be?

Run the BT speedtester at http://speedtester.bt.com/ and see what IP profile it gives you -- this is automatically set at the exchange, and can be lowered temporarily if you experience line trouble
