the old hub is ok, mine is ok, I had a few problems, but they seem to be sorted now, the new hub is suppose to be better.,
BTvision do not affect any FUP as you are paying for the use of it.
People have had hit and misses with Bt vision, some people love it,, other people hate it. the box have some problems and since the last update is unstable, but I presume that wil be rectified soon. You need at east 2Megs speed and your phoneline must be with Bt, in other words you have to pay the line rental to BT.
I can't get BT Vision, because I use another company for my phone line.
TBH BTvision is not cheap, if you juct have it as a PAYG system, it could work very expensive as most films are 3 upwards, I think T.V stuff, is about 70p each.
You can subscribe, but that takes away the pay for what you watch. for about 14 you have the T.v pack, tv replay and any two from picture box, music, kids or sports, you also get free Santata, but you got to pay for the card. that is the bronze package,
You also get Silver and gold, they cost more, but you can get more packages.

On demand is fine, but you don't get everything you want and the series do change, so they don't something like lost on there for months.
Picture quality is ok, but I think most sky channels are still better quality.
Bt supplies network plugs, so if your router is a distance from the BTV box, you can network over the mains, but they can bit a bit hit and miss and better to use a ethernet cable
I think it is pretty expensive by the time you add everything up, but if you got Bt broadband already, then maybe it is worth getting.
I think I would get it if I watched a lot of T.V unless Sky LLU the exchange, then I would go for Sky.
Adrian using Linux on his laptop and loves it.
