my problems are sorted (for now) finally - but it took contacting Ian Livingstone directly to get things sorted - his ELC and the HLC teams were really great tho - shame the helpdesk isn't as good.

The main problem was the helpdesk just doesn't have enough leaverage with wholesale who seem to pretty much ignore them if it takes their fancy... whereas the higher level teams can put the pressure on.

It seems that experiences can be varied on that front. Not that I doubt your problems but I got interleaving turned off without a query (I was expecting issues when I requested it). The CS rep simply asked if I had a consistently stable line (paraphrasing).

The change was complete with 48 hours as my line rate rose by the requisite amount (from 7616kbps to 8128kbps).

Then, a couple of days later, my IP profile duly responded, altering from 6.5Mbps to 7.15Mbps (as described here). This was reflected in real world download speeds (early in the morning using multiple downloads from Apple to max out the bandwidth - thinkbroadband's speedtester ironically doesn't reflect the speeds I can get from certain sites).

This was all a couple of months or so ago.

I have never managed to get interleaving turned off simply and easily frown first time after several emails and phone calls it was eventually esculated to a UK helpdesk and was actually then done in 24 hours...

This time the problem seems to be due to the move to ADSL2 left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Its been quite a saga...

But on the plus side it finally seems to be fixed fingers crossed with the unexpected bonus that my line now seems to be stable at almost twice the sync rate it was before.

Oh, that's an improvement. However, until it can differentiate between LAN and WAN destined traffic and amalgamate data it isn't of much use to me. I use a combination of dd-wrt logging and SNMP.

For usage logging it isn't any use to you, but for a speed test the multi-threading should give you comparable results to anything else.

Data amalgamation is now available as well. However, again for you that is useless due to inclusion of the LAN traffic.
