16 weeks ...

[link to this post]

... to restore service!

The pole supplying my house has been demolished by a speeding driver - estimated at 80+ in a 30 limit! BT want to replace the pole in the same location but the local authority are making them wait for various approvals before they can do it. Why? Who knows!

I have lost a nice stable, reasonable speed connection and have been really suffering with an O2 mobile broadband router - the worst service I have come across - emails going missing, images being down converted and data ripped off them, speeds around 100 - 300 kbps. Replaced it with a Vodafone connection and the speed is better, email is sorted but overall no where near as good as my BT connection.

Time to contact your local council then.. give them the bill for your mobile connection.
Its a reach I know... but worth contacting them if they are causing problems with approvals.

BT are providing the mobile connection and covering the costs - they will be passing it all on to the driver and insurance company. Similarly, my mobile phone bill - running at around £100/week will also be charged to the driver.

Thats not to bad then..

As them to install FTTP while they are at it and charge that to the driver too...
Now that really is a reach !?!

I hope it get sorted soon... perhaps they should put it underground.. unless its a good barrier to stop it hitting your house !

Prolly traffic management. Will the job need 3 or 4 way traffic lights?

I've seen BT putting in these posts before, the longest time it will take is around 2 hours. And They do it all from the back of a flatbed truck so it's not as if there will be major traffic issues frown
Council politics, don't you just love them?

On Saturday I was syncing at over 4000kb with downloads at 3700kb and up.

Over the past few days it has crept up to a stable 5600 sync and downloads around 4200 kb.

Before the accident I was seeing speeds of around 2700kb ... I wonder what else was sorted along with a minor internal wiring tweak.
