IP profile woes

[link to this post]

Hi All,

How can I solve my very very slow line issue?
Previously we got 1.3-1.8meg down our rural line but recently we have got the following:

Download speedachieved during the test was - 114 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 50-135 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Assured Rate IP profile on your line is - 135 Kbps

Thats from BTspeedtester this am.

The router (homehub2) still seems connected at its normal speed.
Stats:

ADSL line status
Connection Information
Line state Connected
Connection time 0 days, 11:19:08
Downstream 2,336 Kbps
Upstream 448 Kbps

ADSL Settings
VPI/VCI 0/38
Type PPPoA
Modulation G.992.1 Annex A
Latency type Fast
Noise margin (Down/Up) 13.0 dB / 20.0 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up) 52.8 dB / 26.0 dB
Output power (Down/Up) 3.5 dBm / 1.5 dBm
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote) 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote) 0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote) 0 / 0
FEC Errors (Down/Up) 0 / 1
CRC Errors (Down/Up) 194 / 1
HEC Errors (Down/Up) 294 / 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote) 152 / 2

Any ideas on a solution?
I have of course reported the problem to BT who have done nothing as yet.

Cheers

Paul

Last Thursday evening I noticed a problem with pages loading slowly. didn't get a chance to chase it down until yesterday Saturday. My profile was changed from a 2meg profile to a 240kbs download profile dispite the 2meg link on Thursday, no explaination why as yet but back up to almost 2 meg download profile today after 24 hours of discussion with BT. Only told that profile was changed today Sunday, not mention of it yesterday, although I think the "technician" was well aware what the problem yesterday.

I think your connection maybe trottled or restriced to deliver only about 114kb dispite the 2meg channel being available. Ask them is your download profile restricted?

I too am in a rural location on option3, sadly option1 service level. Hope this helps

Cheers for that mate.

I reckon your right. Its throttled likely due to a temp problem on the network.
I'll pursue via the kind offer from bt_care and hope it can be opened up again.
