Thanks for everything NOT!!!

After several years as a BT customer on option 3, I have decided to change phone a broadband provider (maybe a foolish move, but you never really know until you try).

My change over date is the 16th but BT have decided to suspend the account already so I have no phone or broadband service.
Yes the DD got cancelled as advised but I would of expected an amended bill to finalise the BT account that will be paid in full.

I am posting this here just to make people aware that if you do change providers bt still will hold you ransom until you are fully moved over.

I know many people that have changed to LLU seamlessly. I changed from a BTw broadband service to an LLU broadband service with no downtime whatsoever.
Your case is the exception rather than the rule and given the diabollically poor provisioning performance of a certain popular MPF provider, I wonder if it's BT's fault at all.

Did you Cancel the BT contracts? It sounds as though you did, and that is the wrong thing to do.

We didn't cancel the contracts.

We just asked for the MAC.

Ohwell, suppose you take the rough with smooth, just gonna have an annoyed teen doing GCSE exams with no net access.

C'est la vie.

Well maybe you shouldnt have tried to change things during such an important time - there's always a risk with these things no matter who your provider is.

Have you got anyone nearby who will let you connect into their wireless LAN for a bit? As long as you aren't going to hammer things?
