Just purchased a new imac

I installed the BT broadband software on an imac and The wireless key isn't working, however it connects to the router. The key has been entered correct , because i use exactly the same key on 2 other pcs and an xbox!. It also says the key on the router, so chance of getting that wrong is very low!.

If you click on Airport, enter the details it says " Connected to ..... "

But it just wont connect to the internet, any ideas?

Was there any need to install BT broadband software on your PC? It should all be handled by router. Perhaps that messed up your iMac.

I haven't installed any BT Broadband software on my pc, and i installed the MAC software on the MAC to see if that would fix the issue. It did not!.

Isn't an iMac a computer? You had said nothing about "installing the MAC software on the MAC".

An iMac is not a PC.

I run an iMac, but beyond commenting that installing an ISP's own software is not usually a good idea I can't immediately see what the problem might be

I think, maybe, y'all are being nit-pickers and are restricting "PC" to mean only a "Microsoft Windows PC". However regardless of this, I put it to you that the gist of my meaning was clear

P.S. Wikipedia agrees with my use:

A personal computer (PC) is any general-purpose computer whose size, capabilities, and original sales price make it useful for individuals, and which is intended to be operated directly by an end-user with no intervening computer operator.
