so its first EPL game, tried to watch web stream amd after a very slow attempt to load I am apparently hitting my stream limit.
Then I tried the android app and after a long wait I am apparently not connected to the internet.

many more also.
but yeah if you wait for the game to finish its hardly testing what I said
I am sure BT will fix it for future events but not a great start.
Once connected the stream was fine, I did manage to connect at half time after 50 or so attempts hammering it, then was no buffering or other issues.

I am sure BT will fix it for future events but not a great start. They had the same problem on launch night so they have already have more than two weeks notice that they need more capacity.

How do you know when I watched it? Clever stuff!

Once connected the stream was fine, I did manage to connect at half time after 50 or so attempts hammering it, then was no buffering or other issues. That's because everyone else having trouble gave up , despite BT saying they fixed it by half-time. They would, wouldn't they!

Sounds reason enough to use Sportlemon or vipbox to me.

well you had a chance to say it was a different time, and logic dictates you didnt try to watch during the match as you didnt have a problem.

As I read the reports, only people who tried to log on after the start of the program had problems. Those who were already logged on were OK. I repeat, it worked just fine for me.
Logic beats assumptions any day.

Talking of logic, it's logical to assume the capacity problems were in the authentication servers as these affect everyone, and also these weren't capacity tested when the service launched as there was no authentication on the first night.
|
|
|
I tried to take a peek and it was the listings and page around the stream that was the issue.
From a user point of view far too many clicks needed to actually watch a stream

That would seem likely as the problem was with authentication, not streaming.
|
|
|
I couldn't log on as the authentication servers weren't responding, so I used a bookmark to the streams and got on straight away. This indicates to me that the streaming capacity is fine but the authentication servers aren't.
I agree about the interface, it requires you to click too many different "watch now" buttons to actually get to the stream.

It's quite straightforward on the iPad app, but I haven't tried on a PC.

If you want to next week, I recommend you bookmark the streams just in case

I came to same conclusion.
BT's PR statement has a touch of arrogance about it, as if they are suggesting people who tried to login during the event were doing something wrong.
On the forums a few posted they got kicked off after logging in before the mtach and of course at that point they couldnt get back on again. So BT's statement is by no means accurate.
There was authentication prior to launch.

Yeah the website is designed badly with the amount of clicks needed.
But when you got round those listings and tried to actually start the stream it wouldnt start, so it wasnt limited to the listings. As batboy said the problem was related to starting the stream as well as the BT sport site itself, but once the stream was running it was (mostly) ok. (as some reported they got kicked off).

If you watch BT Sport right now, its the URL in the top of your bowser.
It probably helps to login before using the bookmark in order to set the cookie.
