Just wait until it happens again - get straight to the hub and look at the recent pages.

Hi

Ok, I thought it had gone away but I spoke too soon!! The log states the following:

09:00:34, 27 Jul.

wl0:A WiFi device <1E:9E:21:F8:7B:45> has successfully connected to SSID (Device/WiFi/SSIDs/SSID[WL_PRIV5G])

09:00:29, 27 Jul.

wl0:Device <1E:9E:21:F8:7B:45> was disconnected on SSID (Device/WiFi/SSIDs/SSID[WL_PRIV5G])

So we have a 5 second disconnect. It clearly cannot be the router rebooting but I don't have the foggiest what it could be. It happens on other devices too although not at the same time.

Any help is appreciated.

Best

wg

I have had a quick look at three of mine here - two running as WAPs and see quite a few of those message pairs but they never cause any issues here. It could be a device waking up and asking for a connection and teh WAP ends the old and starts a new, or a lease running out ... or change of WAP in use or moving between the two bands.

No real further ideas - but you now know where all your log files are!

A good idea but I suspect not. The example I posted was when I was using my phone this morning. It is a royal pain to be mid way through something and then to lose wifi and it just hangs until the wifi reconnects.

It happens too frequently for it to be leases running out. I have no wifi access points other than the router. Moving between the two bands is an interesting thought.... How would I check for that?

Looking at the last post - at the end of each entry it says 5G meaning the 5 GHz band, if it says 2G it is the 2.4GHz band, so not the case for you.

edit: to swap bands round

Can you post up your stats here:

192.168.1.254 - advanced settings - technical log

What is your DSL Uptime? Does the uptime align to the period it dropped e.g. it went off 6 hours ago, and your uptime is only 6 hours?
