BT Fibre outage, Hertfordshire?

[link to this post]

Wondering if anyone else is having issues with BT Fibre in Hertfordshire ( SG9 / Stevenage) area?

Mine has been down since the start of last week and they have finally updated the fix date this week to the 31st.....

Phone support has been rubbish... no info what so ever from them, until last night when the rep said the Openreach info says rodent damage.. no other info though..

Sounded like quite a few people affected, but haven't heard of anyone else complaining, and the expected fix date seems a little bit far in the future....

Curious if it's a very local issue and they are been VERY slow to fix it, or if it is indeed a bigger issue as they made it sound. Anyone else affected?

Long way from Hertfordshire to Devon I thought.... but could be the same pest in a different location!

Or it could be copper theft frown

FTTP here

Support rom BT has been absolutely rubbish, I'm on the basic fibre essentials and phone (Completely different from the experience when signing up and temporally been on a slightly higher tear package, getting it installed was a long journey and issue after issue..).

Been having an issue around that area, I'm near Biggleswade but also FTTP. I had 300Mbit on BT Business for 2 years to this house without issue, then moved to the 900Mbit package and since then it stops working if you use it hard for a bit for around 4 - 5 minutes then comes back. It's not actually disconnecting but traffic stops routing around hop 7 which according to a GeoIP if that's accurate is in Stowmarket.

I just cannot get them to investigate any possible issues there, they've sent people to my house twice but it's clearly not an issue here. We tried removing my block of static IP's and going to a single one (I can manage with a single IP to be fair) but that hasn't solved it. It also knocked the Business Broadband off for 3 weeks, they've only just resolved that as they found a routing issue. Had to use the Domestic BT Broadband login to stay online inbetween.

I know this isn't exactly the issue you have but just to say something is wrong and it's a nightmare trying to get it solved. I'm stuck until June 2023 on a contract with them but almost feeling like I'll have to order Virgin soon to have a stable Internet connection as stuck with BT on my FTTP line frown
