Transfer to BT broadband

[link to this post]

Someone please help me before I have a nervous breakdown.

What is the best number to ring to change from BT Yahoo broadband
to BT Business Boadband?

The last operator I spoke to told me I would have to have my broadband disconnected fo seven days for the transfer to be carried out.

Surely this can't be right?

Should just be a straight migration, <30 mins o.o.s time.

UK based support (at least for the moment anyway - they axed palns to offshore the Business helpdesk to India) and unlimited usage are the main advantages.
Not sure if the traffic prioritisation still applies to the lower priced Business packages, but I can't think of a reason why it shouldn't. This, in theory means less contention type issues on Business BB

There are probably more advantages, but the above are the main ones

How much does it cost? Surprising that they'll let their residential customers migrate to something which is not intended for them. I might change just to have a helpdesk in this country, as the comments about Bangalore on this forum are overwhelmingly negative.

Dont think it costs anything to migrate, at least your not held to term.
I recall an insider saying the business help desk was heading east in the future also.

I dont believe Single and Share have higher priority. Maybe wrong but they are limited to 448kbps upstream which would suggest they are not based on MAX Premium.

26.99 plus vat if you sign for two years. Though the guy who signed me up
said they wouldn't hold you to the contract after a year.

As has been said, the main attraction is it's uncapped.

Though now that I've migrated I fully expect BT to lift the cap
on option four!!

There was no problem migrating even though I don't have a business.

The Bangalore helpdesk told me initially that it would take 7 days downtime
to do the transfer - [censored].

Then they told me they didn't know what the code number I was looking for was.

Should be transferred by next Friday, all being well, and with only
a few mins downtime.
