New HUB slower speed

[link to this post]

Was already on MAX option 4, moved to option 3 and this was activated today. Installed new HUB,all working OK. Did a speedtest and instead of getting a constant 3.7mb, its dropped to 2mb.

I'm synced at the same speed according to the HUB, but slower!! I e-mailed BT beforehand asking if they would do anything different with the line, but no response.

Is this coincidence or am I back in my 10 day bit again?

Thanks

Re: New HUB slower speed(faulty)

Hi,

I have just connected my new home hub to see what I sync at with my linksys WAG354G I get 5780, with the home hub I get NO more than 4640.

Which is very poor less than a meg when my exchange is at off peak times, so I will continue to contact BT with faulty hubs until they sort the poor modem out. After all it is poor as their is a speed problem with it!

I am also speaking to some manager of something or other and I am going to get more and more hubs until its sorted.

Try using the adsl cable ( from your filter to the hub) from the original router you had. I rejected the one that came with the Hub as it was ghastly, fitted badly and needed wiggling about.

I used the one that came with the Hub, I am opposite to a few here, my sync has increased.

Tried both and now I am getting a new hub, as far as I am concerned a slower speed means faulty equipment so I will just have a lot of hubs!
