Home Hub Setup

[link to this post]

Hi all,

I am due to migrate from plus.net tomorrow. At the moment I am using a wireless Netgear DG384G router that is connected to my workstation's network card with a Ethernet cable.

When I receive the home hub will it be pre-configured with my BT logon details? Do I just plug it into my Ethernet cable and off I go?

I don't want to install any software on my PC especially the remote control software BT use to connect to your machine. Do they insist on using this software if I have any support problems?

Cheers all.

Just plug your hub in and that's it. There is no need of the disc that comes with it unless you want the BT Yahoo bloatware.

I prefer foistware to bloatware - especially with all the home page hijack, desktop search et al that you get no option to exclude!
