BT Speed Tester

[link to this post]

I think I might be doing something wrong, do I need to log in with the speedtest@speedtest_domain account, if so how do I do this with the BT hub?

Thanks

Yeah Tech help say you don't but what to they know, not a lot.

You need to get into advanced and then go to broadband at the side and then internet services and then click disconnect and then click the more link at the top right hand corner. Now you can change the login. Remember to untick remember password(the password for that account is testing) and then click connect. Do the speedtest and then repeat but putting in your normal password and username. If the speedtest says anything about other errors and suff report them when you call up tech help and then just do the speedtest under the normal login.

I cannot see why you have to disconnect but hey it is Thomson who made it.

Switch user, the username and password are admin in both boxes. If you are using Internet explorer 7 it wont work properly, you will need to download an alternative browser.

Just completed the test and it gave me the below results.

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:
IP profile for your line is - 2000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 7616 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1818 kbps

Does the ip profile mean the sync speed, if so do I just wait out the training period or is there anything I can do my end in the mean time?

A performance test has already run within the last 1 day. Normally you may only run a performance test using this service once every 1 day

i have run the test in the last day but all i got was errors

Odd.

If I am synched at 2000, will this change? I just read in the Nildram thread that if your unlucky enough to sync that low chances are it will stay fixed.

Rang BT but poor english speaking lady just did the 3 day 10 day speal, guess I will have to wait it out till then?

When I was first activated I had about 2 meg then it jumped to 5.5 meg. They will not do anything if your in the 10 day training period.
