i thought that, but does the adslguide speedtester not use some abstract port?
it says "This is normally caused by a firewall blocking your connection to the speedtest server. Please ensure that you allow outbound connections to TCP port 8095"
8095 is not port 80 (http) which seems fine for me also and im guessing because its exactly the same speed i see on bit torrent that the adslguide one is being shaped too?

That I cannot answer. P2P can operate on any port not just 8095. It could work on port 80 if you wanted it to. Traffic shaping on P2P is done via signature matching not mass slowing down of ports.
hmm yeah you have a point, they do inspect the packets. wonder if its set up to cap anything on those ports tho, just an idea anyway i get 10k on the speedtest consistantly till about after 10 where its 20k then full speed after 12 ish. il test more later!
its gone midnight here and I'm getting extreme throttling (30K max) on EVERYTHING but http tonight, which is extremely annoying as I've been trying to do several things that require more bandwidth than that to work properly.
