What are the current bt broadband dns servers ?

Just use the gateway. 192.168.1.254 or 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 depending on what router you have.

Don't know, i've started using opendns.com instead

Perticually like the ability to force an update of the DNS info they hold and the option for setting shortcuts.

The router keeps using the old dns servers , i've set the tcp/ip in network to auto.. but the damn speedtouch keeps trying to use the old dns. Anyway of removing the dns servers from the router?

A hardware reset should do it.

Will try that now , thankyou

I had my little pin on the hardware reset at the back of the router , it did its cycle and it still says

Disabled/Not OK Connectivity to DNS Server 1 (62.6.40.162)
Disabled/Not OK Connectivity to DNS Server 2 (194.72.0.98)

Try logging on to the Home Hub via telnet

First, you need a command prompt.

To do this go, START > RUN... > Type "cmd" (without the quotes).

Once at the cmd prompt, type :> telnet 192.168.1.254

Enter your user name
Enter you Password:

A prompt like the one below should appear.

_{Administrator}=>

Your in.

To exit, simply type "exit" (without quotes)


When logged in, issue the following commands:

:dns server route flush
:dns server route add dns=208.67.222.222 metric=1 intf=RoutedEthoA
:dns server route add dns=208.67.220.220 metric=1 intf=RoutedEthoA
:dns server route list
aveall

May not work as this is for Speedtocuh 716/780WL

The server IP addreses above are for OpenDNS
