stuck ip profile

[link to this post]

hi every1

first im new so sorry 4 any mistakes.
I recently bought upto 8meg bb from bt. when the service was swapped over from tiscali i saw no difference in my line stats, when i was @ tiscali i originally had 2meg connection and then i downgraded to a 512 connection the dl rate stayed the same! didnt think about it at the time but could this be linked to my problems now??

anyway i have watched my stats since 22nd may and there has been no change to the sync speed at all my snr margin drops sometimes in peek time to around 11db but thats about it. I have been checking my ip profile on btspeedtester and its always been on 2000kbps. here are my stats and btspeedtest results

Uptime: 6 days, 2:10:15

Modulation: G.992.1 annex A

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 8,096

Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [GB/GB]: 1.19 / 32.29

Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 19.5

Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 16.5 / 32.0

SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 21.0 / 12.5

Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / TSTC

Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0

Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 1 / 0

Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0

Loss of Link (Remote): 0

Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 1 / 0

FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 31,608

CRC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 154

HEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 106

test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:
IP profile for your line is - 2000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8096 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1822 kbps

does this seem like a stuck ip profile?? its doing my head in! can any1 help me?

If you have any issues ask for their line manager and if he or she is not available ask for the floor manager that should sort it out.

If that fails call up 0800 800 150 and put in an official complaint about the service.

A stuck IP Profile is not in their script so you need to be firm with them - not rude but firm. Your line speed is close to perfect so don't take any of the: "Now plug the HH into your master socket" rubbish. You will need to be persistent and firm though. Good Luck!

hi
just spent 3 hours on the phone to bt. at first i was told to ring sales by tech and given the phone number, ended up back at tech at first was told i didnt have upto 8meg bb and option 3 was capped to 2 meg i then spent 2 hours talking to faults and line managers who then told me to ring sales and re order adslMAX.
i rang sales and they gave me bt wholesales number and said they didnt know how to help me. i was constantly told i had 7meg bb and it was a internal wiring problem. i then rang to put a complaint in and was put though to uk call centre(technical) who said it didnt matter about the ip profile and i was getting 7mb in the end they said the would escilate the problem and that bt wholesale will sort it within 48 hours.

does this seem correct?? im feeling pritty poo with all this stress, whats the likely hood this will sort the problem out once and for all.

any info/help will be gratefully received

NO NO NO! The profile affects speed if your profile is 2meg your speeds will not go above 2 meg. Why were you given BT Wholesales number I don't know they wont even speak to you as they are not customer facing.

Who did you put the complaint in with? Update us as to how it goes.
