Broadband Profile at 250K :(

Hi,

I'm having problems with my Phone line when people call it rings once then goes all crackly, Anyway I also decided to do a Speed Test at speedtest.bt.com and was shocked to find the results:

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 250 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 7040 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 189 kbps

I used to be hitting over 5mbs or sometimes 6mbs

I rang Tech Support and they said to wait untill the Engineer comes tomorrow to fix the fault on my line.... Hmmmm I hopt that fixes my speed.... Will It???

Yeah you have a voice line fault which has affected your broadband wait a few days after the engineer has fixed your voice fault before calling them up or posting here again.

remember stable synch speed for 3 whole days and on day 4 your ip profile will come back to you

Ok This was yesterdays Result:

Ok so my speed has gone up a bit but the speed it can actually do has gone down from 7040 KBPS to 2912 KBPS Why and How has that happened???

ive been having a similar problem over last few months and everytime we ask about it were told that theres no problem with the line

I have been keeping a record of speeds etc over the last month, any advice you could give me on this would be greatly appreciated as BT only recommend clearing my cookies

http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/2622-another-max-product-update.html check the above link about BRAS profiles, basically if you loose your connection/synch and this drops you out of your synch step then your BRAS goes to hell for 3 days then will come back to your now correct profile on day 4 as long as you have been stable for those 3 days, if you have been stable and your BRAS does not come back to you on day 4 then you have whats called a stuck bras profile and its time to call thd

Well they said it would be fixed as of 3pm yesterday, But it's not, They said something about turning off interliving?? What the heck is that, Now they got me to plug my Router into the test point and want me to moniter it for 2 hours, As if nything will blooming change.

I asked them to reset my BRAS profile as it is stuck at 1000kbps but BT India don;t understand me, And I don;t think they know what they are doing half the time.

I just want my speed back Grrrrrrrrrr

No they don't because it is not in their script. Yo have to be firm and insist.

They just don't know how to do their jobs, It's driving me crazy!!!
