Speed Difference BT & Sky

Last Wednesday I Migrated over to Sky from BT.
BT have always told me and the speed tests seem to confirmed that the Max speed I could get with them was 1.5 meg. I was on the BT Total Max package.
Since I switched to sky the lowest speed I have had is 3.5 with an average of 4. I am even using the same router (Not the Bt Hub, which I gave up with many months ago.
As a side note when I contacted BT to ask for my MAC code they asked why I was leaving, I told them Sky had offered me their Total package for nothing instead of the

I am now sitting pretty with averages of 1 1/5
