Happy I left

[link to this post]

Hi all
I have been with BT broadband for five years, but I had had enough of slow speeds since March from 4pm until midnight every night. So I have gone over to ZEN. I now get 4800kbps down speeds anytime of the day or night; this proves that is not the exchange or my line or the other people on my line it BT making room for vision etc.
I think what they are doing is criminal, and when you ask them about it they tell bare faced lies. I didn

Like you I have been with BT for years enough is enough and I am leaving as soon as my contract is up in September. My exchange is Be enabled and I'm tempted but there seems to be too many outages with them. I can't make my mind up between Zen and ADSL24 both have lots of praise and good speeds. Still I've got time to think it over.

I've been with BT for the last 5 years or so and I must admit that I too am just about on the brink.

I've been looking at ADSL24 (Home 30) and I like their approach - but don't pretend to be clever about who is available at what exchange etc !!

My exchange shows :-

Local loop unbundling presence
AOL: Not available
Be: Not available
Bulldog: Enabled
CPW / TalkTalk: Enabled
Easynet / Sky: Enabled
Edge Telecom: Not available
HomeChoice: Not available
Lumison: Not available
Node4: Not available
Orange: Not available
Pipex: Not available
Smallworld: Not available
Tiscali: Not available
WB Internet: Not available
Zen Internet: Not available

I assume that ADSL24 falls into that somewhere - anyone know??

Equally ADSL24 don't seem to have a forum on these boards - does anyone know if there is one somewhere else that I could look at to see what users are saying about them?

ADSL24 are an Entanet reseller, using BT IPstream (not LLU).
Check the Entanet forum...

talk talk stay away from sky if you can get a stable connection are ok zen are good m8 of mine has them but his gamming ping suck because of the ability of everybody to max out their connections whenever. Me being a gammer first downloader second ill stick with the peek period throtteling for now as dose not affect the gamming pings as can allways schedule the d/l outside of this but if bt mess with my gamming pings woe betide them

Excellent - thanks. As I said I'm not too up on the whole BB supplier thing really - result of BT brainwashing perhaps !!

Am having a read of the Entanet threads now.......

Thanks again.

I am a BF 2142 player and my pings are ok
About 25ms on most UK servers, same as when I was on BT.

Same here.
I left them about a month ago.
As soon as I was activated with my new ISP, my speeds shot up to full speed 99% of the time - speeds are pretty much identicle on all ports.
When I was with BT I was getting 20-60kbps after 4pm, which meant I couldn't even watch streaming videos on youtube, etc.
The day I was activated with my new ISP, I could still use my BT broadband, so I kept changing between ISP's at 8pm, and when I connected to BT I was downloading files at 70kbps, I then connected to my new ISP and downloaded from exactly the same website and I was getting 830kbps.

My exchange is tiny and serves under 2000 premises and has loads of bandwidth to spare, but the above proves it isn't contention or congestion anyway - it is BT's end.
