Router Stats and Speedtest results

My router is currently displaying the following:

DOWNSTREAM:

Line Rate - 1024 Kbps
Noise Margin - 9.3 dB
Line Att - 57.5 dB
Output Power - 15.8 dBm

UPSTREAM:

Line Rate - 448 Kbps
Noise Margin - 14.0 dB
Line Att - 31.5 dB
Output Power - 11.9 dBm

The speedtest result on this website gives these results:

Speed Down 121.75 Kbps ( 0.1 Mbps )
Speed Up 367.58 Kbps ( 0.4 Mbps )

Is this usual?

It would be worth running the test at www.speedtester.bt.com it looks like you have had a 'low sync event' and this has goosed your IP profile .. a few days stability should see it recover. Are the stats from the router any better when testing at NTE test jack with all else disconnected ? (you will be looking for an improvement in downstream line rate)

Results from the BT test:

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 135 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 224 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 118 kbps

Things are no better when everything is disconnected.

*Something* is very wrong there. Time to get BTBB to look into this, as long as you see no improvement, testing as I asked (you said not) then don't be put off by the call centre threatening charges for a visit. It's not a Voyager 210 is it ?

It is a BT Voyager 2100.

I ditched the homehub as it kept losing the connection altogether.

OK then, time to give them a bell .....

His sync is fine at around 1mbit. You can see from the noise margin, around 9, that he won't get any higher than that.

But his IP profile is stuck at 135k...this is probably due to some weird interference or disconnections and I suspect his target noise margin has increased to 9 to try and make the line more stable. In a few days i'd reset the router again and see if the profile updates.
