Re: Home Hub problems

Dunno, I'm running the new hub and not noticed the lock-ups either. I have been told that their is very little difference between v1 and 1.5 just that its around 5% different which is quite a bit!

As for the E revision on the firmware its not supposed to have changed anything related to memory and left the bods in Hub development or whatever its officially called scratching their heads! Last I heard they were calling Thomson to find out what they had done which fixed so many of the problems customers were having.

I still get the old dns error and freezes on my original HH on E, except it now takes a lot more entries in the logs to crash it than before E. It also stays up longer, a maximum of 14 days is the record before a lock up of dns, wireless, user interface etc or a complete reboot, wow!

As I've said before the software has memory leaks. If the new shape is better due to some memory addressing changes or whatever, I may ask BT for one, but after 2 mins on the tech line I lose the will to live.

When I changed to the new style it was up for about 20 days before I had to unplug it to test a router for a friend. Since then....

Broadband connection details:
Downstream 6,976 Kbps
Upstream 448 Kbps
Connection time 26 days, 8:32:02

...It's been perfect.....no DNS lockups or failure of BB Talk service. If I was to reboot it in the morning, I could get a sync of about 7.2 Mbps but want to leave it to see how long it stays up for.
