Throttling made BBC News

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_midlands/7582448.stm

It is not the full report, seems BT are spouting out their [censored] only heavy users are throttled, when we know it happens to all users.

So unlimited means what exactly ? I do about 50GB a month, i always choose the most expensive package to accommodate this and always find my self disappointed with every isp i go with.

lucky you

I get throttled to 0.5mbit during peak time regardless of how much I've downloaded this month or the month before.

Hence why I already love O2 after just 4 days.

Managed to pull 30GB in just one day of having them (downloading olympic opening / closing ceremonies in HD).

So it was you that was causing all the congestion for IDNET, Zen, Entanet.... Git

Edit: I was throttled by BTB, and was the reason why I left. Thankfully the grass was greener on the other side

I'm glad you guys are congesting someones elses network - this is just the reason why I think BTs throttling is protecting the core service by driving out the download monkies to other networks.

Last point of O2's FUP, http://www.o2.co.uk/termsconditions/broadband

"4 What about excessive network usage?

There is no limit on the monthly network usage. However if we feel that your activities are so excessive that other customers are detrimentally affected, we may give you a written warning (by email or otherwise). In extreme circumstances, if the levels of activity do not immediately decrease after the warning, we may terminate or suspend your Services."

Maybe they haven't caught up with you yet!
