Mac code

[link to this post]

I'm thinking of moving from Virgin adsl to BT broadband to get faster speed for my money ,been with Virgin since 2005 ,no problems to speak of .
Anyway looking on BT website it says I do not need a mac code as I have a BT landline,I'm confused - is this correct ?
And - as existing BT BB users do you think moving to BT is a wise move ?

Thanks,
djh22.

Is that the Virgin Media (cable) option on the BT website?
If your on Virgin ADSL you will need a MAC

I think 99% that you will need the MAC, get BT to confirm it, my guess is that having it won't harm you.
The sooner you move the better, but choose a good ISP, BT?, Well, read the forums and check this out.

Not directly, but I do read forums, independent ISP reviews and reports, that's a good starting point wink..
http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checke... <-check what's available at your exchange by using a local BT phone number ( if you haven't done it already), or:
http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search... to search the exchange.
then narrow it down researching your choices.

Good luck.
