Can you see if you can get the line stats from the Hub? See here for help in finding them.

They will tell us what speed your line should connect at, and possibly give a clue as to the cause of the problem.

Is this your first broadband connection in the UK, and if not, who were you with before and what did you get?

i have had broadband in the uk for quite a few years.. different isps at different addresses..

this connection was meant to be a line and adsl transfer but BT messed that up.. so its a new install at my new address, its been at the current Sync speed since it was activated last wednesday( actually activated 5 days early) i have tried 2 different home hubs(1.5 and 2) and also a belkin router, all same results, the availability checker say upto 6.6meg available...

the exchange is actually just up the road from me, about 500 yards..

line stats as follows
Downstream 128 Kbps
Upstream 64 Kbps

Noise margin (Down/Up) 30.3 dB / 31.0 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up) 9.0 dB / 6.5 dB
Output power (Down/Up) 2.9 dBm / 2.7 dBm
Loss of Framing (Local) 0
Loss of Signal (Local) 0
Loss of Power (Local) 0
FEC Errors (Down/Up) 0 / 0
CRC Errors (Down/Up) 0 / 2147480001
HEC Errors (Down/Up) 0 / 0
Error Seconds (Local) 0

I'm no expert on BT Call Centres I'm afraid, but those stats are complete garbage.

Noise Margins over 30dB, attenuation in line with what you say the distance is (I think), very low power levels.

The thing is you should now be able to quote or send those stats to support and perhaps get up to higher levels than the phone answerer.

A BT Speed test - www.speedtester.bt.com - result could be useful to them as well.

If you have another modem/router from your earlier connections it may be worth seeing iof you can get one to work. Maybe your new Hub is duff? Have you swapped filters as well, and tried the BT test socket, on the wall at the back in this pic?

No way should you be getting more than single digit per day errors at that noise margin. Try resetting the router and see if they are building up at a constant rate or in bursts.

i have tried, the home hub 2, and a homehub 1.5 and a belkin router. all give the same up and down sync speeds, the homehub 2 was working fine 2 weeks ago at my previous address.

already tried different filters and also tried using the test socket..., No extansions at all in this house and i made sure that no phones are connected either

i have done everything i can think off.. i may just have to try calling support again and ask to speak to a manager..

i actually got thru to someone in the UK this morning and was told it wasn't her problem and she then passed me thru to india again....

reboot the router and post the figures again after 20-30 minutes or so - that CRC error reading looks like it could possibly be a firmware bug rather than a real reading.

I would also suggest replacing/swapping microfilters if you have spares to hand.

BT help desk ONLY exist to fob you off and send you around in circles until you get bored and give up. If you want to make real progress then unfortunatly you'll either need to get the attention of one of the BT web team or approach ian livingstone directly so he can get his ELC or HLC team onto it frown
