BT aren't that bad

Its been a while since I've looked through these forums and quite surprised on all the negative press on BT. I moved from Tiscali about 4 years ago and they were bad. BT to me are OK, never had any problems with speed or my connection even after 18:30 (you watch I will now .

Although I do understand the problems people are getting as I went through hell with Tiscali, thought it would be worth showing that not everyone has a bad experience.

I think I would agree. BT are fine - as long as you don't have problems.

As soon as you have a problem, or ask an out of norm question - that's when BT turn their problems into your problems.

LOL, excellent business problem analysis!

Definitely agree. BT offer a good service with lots of extras (Vision, VOIP, Mobile dongle, FON etc). Only problems really are:

Sorting stuff out when things go wrong. (Just spent 4 months sorting out a speed issue!)

Treatment of existing customers (e.g. need to wait 'til contract is about to expire before getting stuff that new customers get offered e.g. mobile dongle at reasonable rate).

They need to get rid of the indian call center once and for all , its a complete insult to every british customer with a problem

Vision is not a extra, well not unless you pay for it., Voip is to be honest a hit and miss afair and i wonder how many people really uses it? Mobile dongle is only to new customers and I again I wonder how many people will go for it and it is not free. Fon is a a total waste of time.

I think with Bt we pay a premium price, but don't get a premium service. This evening I have decided that I am not going to renew my contract when it comes to the end, I will look at another provider but only on a month by month basis, because then if this stupid government do decide to charge us a tax on the phone lines I can scrap it all.

Trust me BT are no where near as bad as AOL Hell, thank god I got rid of them, however BT are expensive but touch wood 5 months in and no major issues YET !!

I think I paid £30 for box inc. setup, after that I've just used it as a pvr/freeview alternative to my Sky setup, apart from the occasional film purchase...so to all intents it's free...

If you can get O2 or Be, go for them. If you have Sky, their broadband is flawless also. TalkTalk, from the brief dealings I have had through friends, are decent enough also - and I am VERY impressed with www.talktalkmembers.com - I had so much helpful advice and assistance from the staff there.
