BT Business DNS badness

[link to this post]

Hello

We've had our office broadband through BT for a couple of weeks now (5 static IP set up).

Till today, no problems whatsoever, but we're had massive DNS problems today, domains taking an age to get resolved / not getting resolved at all.

The setup info BT sent said to use the router address as the DNS server address.

I've switched over to using OpenDNS now, and it seems to have fixed the problems, but was wondering if this is a common problem with BT (I'm still very edgy about having BT back in my life in any way, shape or form whatsoever after previous problems with them!).

BT Business e-mail used to be terrible, the basic exchange included with the internet trader pack.

As for DNS I thought it was OK, I've switched to using OpeDNS a long time ago for other reasons but I cant recall any problems with BT DNS.

In my experience of some 3 years of 6 seperate BT Business accounts, there have been no DNS issues that I recall.
