Wow am I pleased to find this forum (although also a little depressed to find that so many people are having a problem with BTBroadband).
I have been with BT about 2 months, for the first month, everything was fine. My laptop connected ok and the speed was fine as well.
Suddenly the only page I could get to load was google and search results from google. I had many, frustrating conversations with the BT Call Centre, where they offered their non solutions resetting the hub, it must be a problem with your laptop (although I had the same issue on two different laptops), it's your firewall etc etc
They were going to escalate the problem to another department, I heard nothing further but after about a week, my broadband speed suddenly returned to normal.
Friday night I connected and used the internet as normal, then on Saturday, the same problem again. My laptop finds the hub ok, the signal is excellent and the speed is OK, but pages are taking hours to load (if they even load at all). I have spoken to their call centre again, was told to plug directly into the phone socket, this made no difference. Then told that my broadband speed was higher than it should be, and the problem must be with the wiring in the house or the phone socket.
I am very dubious about this, because why would my internet be fine for the first month, then for a further two weeks and then suddenly pack up again. Nothing about my installation or set up has changed at all.
I am getting nowhere with the BT Helpdesk, my connection is so slow, I cannot even get their speedtest to load, to show them how slow my broadband connection is!!
HELP!!
