BT Open Zone

[link to this post]

Can someone help me. This is yet another question on behalf of my sister (for other one see elsewhere in this forum). She has a BT Business Hub, it has Open Zone on it, so her holiday flat guests can use it. But, we have a TrendNet N range wireless access point connected to the hub, as the BT one is only G range, and she needs as full range as possible. So how can guests connect to the Open Zone ? So far, every time we connect to the TrendNet it asks for the wireless key from the BT router, rather than working without needing a key.

Is this possible ? Thanks for any help.

Should be fairly simple. The WAP should just connect to the Hub via Ethernet. Being a WAP it should have any DHCP server turned off and instead use the one on the business hub.

After that you can choose whether to have the AP SSID the same as the business hub on a different channel allowing in theory for better connectivity. When you have set that up you should have no issues with still connecting to a BT Openzone SSID being broadcast by the hub.
