Late FUP Emails

[link to this post]

Hi there,

I got my 80 GB reached email in the month, so on that date I worked out how much I could play with before the end of the month. The end of the month came and YAY no 100GB email. But on the 2nd on May came the email and now I'm been capped at peak times.

These LATE emails make it really difficult to work out how much we have left to play with.

This has now affected my business, as last month was a particularly busy month and I had to rebuilt quite a few PC's, so all the Windows updates etc. all add up. I did a PC last night, and it just took absolutely ages to do all the updates. About 4 times as long. Yes I could do them during the day, but I'm out at peoples premises fixing things.

I wish these emails that came out had "as on the **th of this month you reached 80GB" so that I could work out to be careful.

Now jobs that I'm doing in the evenings here at home are just going to take so long to complete, so I have a feeling it is going to add a day to fixing the PC/Laptop for the customer, which they are not going to be very amused at.

Now thinking about getting ADSL on my second phone line just so that I can keep my business at speed. Something that I really dont want to do as cash is tight now a days frown

So what exchange are you on and how long has your BT broadband contract left to run?

Not being able to run the business without fretting about broadband is costing you time and nervous energy, and hence money, even when you don't get throttled!

Im on the Reading Central exchange. Not that far from it, and I get a sync speed of about 18Mbs which Im well impressed with smile

I probably have about 10 months left on my current contract. Renewed it a few months ago and they gave me a very good deal that I could not refuse. Probably to prevent me from going elsewhere as I was hinting at moving to O2.

Yer I am rather a stressful person in life, so I guess this is not helping frown

That must have been quite some deal given O2's first year cost!

Ah well. In 10 months time you know what to do.

Though as deadbeat points out, the net first year cost of O2 at the moment is £40 if you have an O2 mobile, or £100 if you haven't. May be worth thinking about even now?

83%-84% of connection speed 24/7, no IP profile, no aggressive noise margin management, true unlimited. 100GB is peanuts.
