Interleaving

[link to this post]

Well basically, I have had broadband for a while now and its been going ok.

Well, to put it in a nutshell i want Interleaving turned off on my line, I have sent emails, pms, and i have also phoned BT a various amount of times, they say that they havent a clue what it is most of the time, but i have gotten through to a few helpful people that have said they are going to deal with it for me, but they have not.

So i was wondering if anyone here can help me with the situation,

Thanks alot

sure you dont already have it on already? check the router stats.

if not, you would likely be on FAST mode for a reason - your line is stable.

Interleaving is designed to make slightly unstable lines a bit better by breaking up data, if you aren't experiancing packet loss or any troubles, I would stick with FAST mode for now as you will just have a slower speed with interleaving on.

Otherwise.

Go to www.bt.com/contactus and fill in an enquiry form for a normal technical enquiry, they will need to contact Wholesale and request it is done so will take 48 hrs. If they dont do it/get back to you, fill in a complaint form, but at least give them a chance to do it for you before complaining smile

Aren't you being a tad impatient with 2 bumps already?

Is that how you deal with the people who have offered to help? If it is, no wonder they moved on.

Hi JONNY132,

I got your PM there, thanks.

I can see interleaving was turned off today, but do get back to me if you're not seeing this in your router stats.

As others have said already turning interleaving off can cause your line to become unstable so if you ever want it back on again get in touch!

Thanks,

Stephanie

This has been done, and is also great, i recommend this to gamers!

Basically, i phoned bt up and asked to speak to a supervisor, and explained the situation to them and they did it within 2 days!

Thanks to all for help and advice
