Upgrade

My service has been upgraded to adsl2

My download speed has gone down from an average line speed of about 4500kbs to less than 2000kbs,

Since which my upload speed has gone from 375kbs to over 1 meg.

Stats taken from the router line speed of my BT Voygaer 2500V

What is more odd is that my neighbour is on the same road cabinet and same pole gets +5 meg download!

Anyone any ideas?

been a while since i used a 2500v have you changed the connection type in it ?

Having spent made many calls finallly I had an engineer visit who renewed overheadline changed connection plate. Left me with the router getting 7230kps however my line was capped at 2500kps yet more calls this is now been looked into. About 5mins after my last phone call phone rang caller anounced it was BT (I thought that was service) however it was BT offering me fiber (being installed next week).

How can BT upgrade to ADSL+2 then 1 month later offer fiber? cost effective?

That sounds as though it just needs the IP Profile to adjust accordingly.

Cap removed running at 5meg + just in time to have at all removed in 5 days when I go fiber, was this wise????????

oh god yes just waite till you see what speeds you will get with fiber, remember right now your connection speed is dominated by the length of your telephone line form yuo back to the exchange, on fiber its from you back to the cabinet.
