Sure, the reality is they are extremely overpriced.

Like I said, you get what you pay for.

I don't mind paying a premium rate for a high quality service from a supplier who keeps their infrastructure at a level that doesn't impact on the level of service that customers see.

Others prefer to pay less and put up with the contention, throttling etc that comes with supplying down to a price rather than up to a spec.

Takes all sorts.

Takiing a gander at the isp unhappiness and IDnet forum shows reports of slow speeds and routing problems despite the high prices.

In fact if you divide the number of customers by the number of slow speed and can't reach website reports, IDnet could be one of the most complained about providers at the moment. tongue

Mostly seems to be to do with the BT WBC DLM screwing things up tongue. As on BT, Plusnet and Newnet as well.

In a straight line I think it's about 120 metres, assuming BT followed the obvious route I'd guess about 200 metres cable length.

Thanks frown.

I'm 500 metres and wondering about the speed. That's if my cabinet gets FTTC.

I actually think what Billford has isnt a bad deal for what it is.
BT option 2 infinity is £24.99 for only 100gig and comes with throttles, so that service with 120gig total and only a little extra isnt bad at all, i bet its not throttled on some protocols like BT infinity option 2 either. Peak use wouldnt suit me personally but compared to other FTTC deals that option Billford has is far from the worse ive seen, it seems resonably fair to me. I bet support is top notch compared to some also.

EDIT: My god defending Billford, i never thought that would happen, i better go lay down wink
