Well FYI fitted a Linksys WRT54G and not a spot of bother for 3 days, have now fitted the replacement Hub, so testing it out, however I have configured all the network devices with fixed IPs to see if its any differant.

Update: Got to the point of desperation with constant resetting of the Hub, so got a BT technician to connect to my router for a diagnostic session. His solution was to reset the the wifi channel to 1, which I pointed out clashes with my next door neighbour. Within a couple of hours the router had again locked up. A bit of investigation revealed that although Wifi devices can connect to the hub whilst it is in this state, and get proper information from the DHCP server, you can't actually ping the gateway.

So, spoke to a helpful lady in India, who agreed that a new router should be sent out, but couldn't say whether it would be an HH2 or 3. Fingers crossed!

Well apparently its another HH2 being sent out for a 4th time!! Pleaded and tried to explain my own diagnosis but ignored. Oh humm. I`m going to push for HH3 in the chance that it cures my issues. Mean while i ordered a Buffulo router from amazon as a plan B.

Update: Blackberry Torch kills wifi

[re: deleted] [link to this post]

Update: having spent a couple of hours on the phone, and the nice lady in India deleting all of my wireless profiles for the customer sites that I visit, I finally persuaded BT to send me an HH3. Having given me a delivery date, I arranged for my daughter to stay in and wait for it.......it didn't arrive! So, after another 45 minutes on the phone I was told that it hadn't been ordered, so an order was placed. The HH3 duly arrived, and it was at this point that i discovered what a valued BT customer i was(n't). The hub was obviously returned stock; the only items in the (tatty) box were the hub and power supply, and no cables instructions etc.

The good news: The HH3 has indeed fixed the DNLA streaming issue, and the wifi no longer locks up.........yay!

P.S. Never let a BT support engineer mess around with your computer. My laptop is my office, and I now have to go back to the IT departments of various customers to get re-connected to their networks...... very embarrassing.

well I gave up asking for replacements, bought a Buffulo router and had no issues. can only assume the HH2 is just not compatible with my own equipment. Worked alot better on G only but whats the point in that? Now my BB Torch connects to wifi no probs no lock ups etc.

I am hoping to order Infinity this week (as long as the date does not change again) and do not intend to use the HH as I have an Apple Airport Extreme and find it an excellent if expensive bit of kit.

I suppose the installer will want the HH used? If so it will vanish as soon as he is out of the door.
