Sorry, a typo.

Yes - 10000 upload, both sync and IP Profile - that seems to be how it is engineered. Downstream IP Profile is 38717, which I believe is the maximum.

Been pleasantly surprised that I've only had
- HW issue : HH2 was replaced with HH3 - fixed
- about 60 mins one day where the throughput fell to around 14 Mbps (ouch) at off peak (BT say tech fault)
- min speed rest of time around 27

quite funny now other ppl saying they wouldn't go to BT. Sure there may be capacity issues that come and go but certainly so far == very positive

I have to concur all of my issues thus far have been with the HH2, ditching that has seen a vast improvement on stability.

HH3 or Buffalo now?

Buffalo, they BT have refused point blank to replace my HH2 with a 3.

According to my order page they are sending me a HH3 but I shall use my Apple Airport Extreme instead. I get the full 300Mbps on the 5GHz band (iMac and Mac Book Pro).

My objective was just to get the service I paid for. I captured a lot of information (pings,logs) an tried lots of client devices and access points, and tried to clearly articulate why I felt the HH2 was broken. I also referred to getting extra debug, software updates etc.

The initial response from level 2 was replacement was like to like, but fortunately it got referred to the next level where the tech looked at my emails etc and concluded HH3 was the appropriate fix as the wifi implementation was different/better.

I did do this just before the HH3 was out though -- so it was clearer this wasn';t just trying to "get" a HH3 for no justified reason, it was just to get what I'd ordered and paid for.

For me at least BT delivered and fixed the problem.

All I can suggest is you politely keep persuing this, and keep capturing information and be clear what you want (working wireless) rather perhaps than how to get it (HH3) ?

I`m not going to waste anymore time with this as its not just me in this house requiring internet access. The Buffulo and my WRT54G were/are stable the HH2 is just plain broke ! Its been replaced 4 times!! I think they would just keep replacing it forever, I really don`t think they would get the gist. Anyway have had enough grief from the Mrs and the kids over this move to FTTC and the HH woes that its not worth my while experimenting and proving what WE all know is wrong anyway.

Its funny my father has BTBroadband and his HH2 has been replaced several times as well and that one is the ADSL variety. They are just plain broke and of cock all use.

You're right IMO - the HH2 are broke (for wireless)

Easy answer - get new wireless access point (or VDSL router)
Harder but "correct" answer - chase up BT/escalate - perhaps write to the CEO.

Ours works...but it's slow on wireless just like every other router.

If you have any notion you'll be using a good old wire. Then it runs lovely.

Oh yes, we have gigabit to a variety of machines, and 100 Mbps for xbox/tv/bluray etc. But laptops/phones use ethernet only when docked. Whilst around house they'll be in wireless.

That being said I did a speed test the other day and still got around 34 Mbps even over wifi (802.11n). It does have extra latency of course compared to cable but it's not at all bad - HH3.
