Ok - switched off in morning, left it about an hour and now it came back with a connection of 1.8 Mb instead of 2.4 as it was before - am I doing something wrong?

Ok looks like your down stream SNR target is now 12db. The system is basically aiming for stability over speed. And due to the high number of errors before its raised the SNR 3db to reduce the errors.

Before you had over 3700 fec errors per hour now its under 1000 - and similar drop for the CRC's - thats the logic behind it but for more accuracy you need to let it run for a day and a night at least.

Have you tried plugging in at the test socket? If you can see what the error rate is like there over a day or so.

After the 10 day training your going to have to challenge your SP over it if the SNR target stays at 12db but you really need to rule out anything in your property that could be causing.

In reply to a post by Pokerdaz:
How do I ensure SNR is high -

Can you run RouterStats or RouterStats Lite? Then you can monitor SNR from minute to minute or less and pick your time to resync. It works for me.
