I have moved from Sky to BT because I have an underground cable problem, When it is raining I have terrible problems with my internet. With sky I used to moan because I only had 7megs instead of the 8 I was paying for. Sky couldn't sort out the underground cable without it costing a small fortune. Now I have moved back to BT. I am lucky to get enough to get on the internet at all. I have attached my signal tests. Please note most of the signal tests are taken using my modem plugged directly into the modem with a cat Rj45 cable. The other good results, with a different ip address are using my laptop wireless on my friends virginmedia account. So if I was you I would stay with Sky, there results were 7. something all the time day or night.
To correct the underground cable problem, an engineer needs to come when it is raining the engineer said or they find no fault and I will have to pay the £160 they said at BT. When my contract is up with BT I am going to use a pay as you go dongle instead because I can
What made you think that moving from Sky to BT would sort out a cable problem?

You were paying for up to 8 Megs! How on earth do you know whether your line was even capable of 8 Megs, even without the drips? You provide insufficient evidence to justify your moans.

1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU BB => 2010: Orange 19 Meg Tweaked / 16 Meg Untweaked LLU BB

joke is he was probably sync'd at the full 8 meg, just losing the normal amount due to network overheads and the odd bit of traffic.

And now has throttling on any P2P .

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.
