ok, has anyone with BT infinity downloaded >10TB yet per month. What is the maximum you have been able to dowload before being collered?

Well the maximum I could realistically download is somewhere closer to 7TB because of my connection speed...but I don't exactly have a room of hard disks for the job!

In fact, to do 10TB you need pretty much a full 40mbit sync running 24/7 if my calculations are correct. In other words it would be pretty difficult to achieve it even if you wanted to.

I`m of the opinion that if you want to download the internet, go get a leased line! smile Oh wait a minute that would cost too much money, so please can I have the moon on a stick laugh

actually no. The original question was how much could you download before you started to get restricted. I was just wondering what that is. Are we now at a sate with this technology where the download limit (if any) does not effect anything we do.

Come on this old ground been done to death, yes there is the unlimited option but I`m pretty sure if you max your line out 24/7 you will get your collar felt. My last ISP Bethere prided them selves on the truely unlimited tag but IRC a few individuals getting the heave for going crazy.

However I think BT have made it pretty difficult to download 24/7 due to their use of traffic management. You know there is more to having a nice fast line with plenty bandwidth other than maxing it out 24/7! tongue

well the "old" "limit" was 300GB so around that is reasonable

Of course if you do 500GB one month I doubt BT will care. If you do terabytes each month they are probably right to tell you to wise up wink

if your able to run p2p and toorents at a max 24/7 let us in on the secret as "eycola" realy takes the hump at this and remember if you use too much data BT can erminate your contract at no expense to you to get you off there network

Not tried it tongue have you? Last big download was on newsgroups a few weeks back and it was flying. Downloaded the WoW client the other day and it was fairly fast as well considering its p2p. Just noticed recently though BT have caught up with my £8 discount I was getting every month tongue bummer!!
