virgin give you the same deals as they do for new customers...

But only if you yell at them...!

I've been on cable since it was Bradford Cable and that's some time. My package price went up and up and I was paying almost £60 a month for TV XL, BB L and phone with no options, we prefer to use our mobiles.

I was made redundant and called them, they dropped me from TV XL to TV M and that's at no charge, I stayed on BB L at £25 a month and kept the phone, to which they added a weekend calls package and charged £13.90. There was a also a £5 payment charge as I don't use direct debit. Total should have been £43.90 but they allowed £1.50 against the payment charge and a £10 loyalty discount so it came down to £32.40.

It still seemed a lot, so I queried the BB charge as it's shown as being only £13.50 a month for new customers - they would not give me that price, saying that the discount I was getting was enough.

Ignore 'special 3 month at' offers and I have BB L which is £13.50, TV M which they don't list any more so consider it free, plus phone with weekend, so just line rental of £13.90, monthly payment fee of £5 on top makes it - £32.40 - the same as I pay now, with 'loyalty' discounts.

Amazing!

so i need to get on to them tomorrow & see what retentions can offer me or i will cancel because even for 30MB BB thee going to charge me £32-50P i can get BT Ifinity for £25-60P so that sounds a better deal also dont have to worry about STMs like on Virgin with there 30MB BB.

Morning Ash,
Just an update about price Ive been paying Virgin for my 50MB BB, i didn't get chance to call anyone in UK call centre but i spoke to a member of staff on Cable Forum he saw one of my bills & told me I'm paying £35 so i don't know what to do now stick with Virgin & 50MB & have unlimited downloads the service has been rock solid since Ive had it, or move to Bt & save just under £10 a month loss 20Meg on download speed I'm not downloading that much these days so not sure what to do, i use utorrents to download & see Bt throttle them i can max out my connection on Virgin.

Personally id stick with vm yea £10 more but getting rock solid 50meg unmanaged connection,
I cannot wait to get back my VM connection i did consider BT infinity as my next move from sky,
But when i looked at only been able to get 30/7 and it been traffic managed for exactly same price as VM (id have phone with vm to knock it down to 25) it was no comparison just go back with vm for me.

In The End though its down to would you rather have the extra upload save a few pounds but lose uptp 20meg download and possibly be hit by traffic management

or if your happy with the upload speed and prefer the unmanaged downloads but dont mind paying the extra tenner stick with vm.

also if you goto BT infinity and find you dont like it as other have said there's no getting out of it so is it worth it.
