Thanks for the information - BT don't seem to go to this level on their website. I prefer to know how I'm actually going to set something up before buying. It's amazing the range of different requirements that people have. I choose not to use wi-fi because I simply don't trust it and prefer not to have extra microwaves/radiation or whatever floating around the house. It's bad enough with mobile phones and microwave ovens (which I almost never use).

Best advice I can give - if it comes with a "setup" CD in the box, ignore it.

Set your PC to DHCP, pick up an IP address, then do any adjustment you need via the brwser interface of the router.

the setup CD didn`t even work :/ so yes ignore it is best advice
