BT Infinity and FON

I've signed up for BT Infinity and wondered whether FON is part of my subscription or whether it is depending on using the Homehub to provide a FON access point? I'm considering using another router but wondered this would mean I don't get FON....

You don't need to use the hub at all. I am using my Airport Extreme router.

Use whatever router you want to along with the BT modem.

Once Infinity is active just go to the FON page and activate your included wifi access.

I had the same concern when joining but it is not an issue.

You need to be a FON access point to use it yourself elsewhere. Or at least "opt-ed in" on the BT website as far as i'm aware.

You do not need to be a FON access point or have the BT Home hub connected to use FON or BT Openzone elsewhere.
