But, if something went wrong and you for some obscure reason could not revert it back to the original as supplied firmware might find BT has a dim view of it .
However, that said, if the modem is barfed, and you get a replacement, no-one is going to check what firmware hack has been done ...
I guess the main issue with hacking it is that if it goes wrong and you can't revert it you are left with a bust modem and no Infinity (just "beyond" !!!). And ... not everyone is completely happy about doing firmware upgrades etc ...
Oh, those happy days flashing up a new BIOS to enable Windows 95 to network boot!!!!
