Ok best thing you can do is leave everything plugged in and do no messing

There are some issues on exchanges ATM for sure. Lots of exchanges are daisy chained so an issue at a nearby exchange can easily impact yourself.

Thing is even with an exhange issue a slowdown to such a slow speed seems severe.

Just give it time. I'm sure it'll sort itself out.

I would post a link to the BT forum where the present issue is being discussed and there are tens of others who have posted there reporting exactly the same issue, but I believe that is against forum rules
I don't think there's any such rule here smile. Unless you have seen it yourself.

Wow interesting. It shouldn't stay like this permanently ISPs get onto fixing these kings of things generally. (Unless it's virgin media who just leave it till the cabinet explodes into flames / a customer smashes it with a hammer).

Hopefully it'll be fixed in a few days. Otherwise we are looking at a backhaul issue probably which will take some time to fix as BT will have to physically increase the backhaul (prob not the case as the speed just dropped overnight for everyone).

I should really add. I'm on Sky broadband FIbre (80Mbps down 20 up) but West London side. Last night around 1am my connection dropped to literally 0.1Mbps and I couldn't even use the connection. I contacted Sky who told me there were big exchange issues around the London area and they were being flooded with calls. I waited 35 minutes at 1am to get through. It's usually 5 minutes tops at that time. I wonder if this is related. Mines back to Normal now though. (A plus side of this call was Sky have added me to product testing so I might be able to trial their new hub and things laugh)

Hello Colin, I think if I were you, I'd not worry too much for a while. Yesterday my Infinity (80/20) was at 4meg DL for the day. I got in touch with BT who assured me that they were working on the fault: that must have been the case, as I am now back to 60meg. I suppose problems & routine maintenance have to be dealt with sometime! Keep with it, but also keep on to BT for updates. Cheers, Les. (east London)

It's unlikley to be the Airport Extreme as I have been using an AE since day one and it has behaved perfectly with no problems. Powerline adapters are another matter though, as I found my 200Mbps Devolos maxed out at just under 30Mbps throughput.

BT -> Zen -> F2S -> Bulldog -> Be* -> BT Infinity 2
